  • About the product

You can remove the glass tank for washing. The handle doesn't get hot, so you can easily hold the jug with hot contents. The coffee for the Hario French Press is coarsely ground and extracted directly in hot water. This means that the end result in your cup is naturally cloudy and has significantly more body than with other brewing methods. With the French Press from Hario you can not only brew coffee, you can also make tea with our high-quality specialty teas from Tea Spitz.

  • Grinding level for the French Press

The grind setting for coffee from the French press should be coarse. The coffee should not be exposed to too much surface area. If your coffee is ground too finely, you risk over-extraction. This means that your coffee simply doesn't taste good. In general, however, it can be said that the grind setting for French press coffee is the coarsest.

French Press

Which coffee should you use?

To ensure that the coffee from your Hario cafe press U is really tasty, you should pay attention to a few things when choosing the coffee. The French press works according to the direct extraction method. This means that the coffee is extracted directly in the water. To avoid unpleasant bitter substances in your cup profile, you should use medium to light roasts.

This is what the coffee tastes like!

Because the coffee is extracted directly in the water, slightly different aromas develop than we are used to from filter coffee, for example. French press coffee has more body and is more intense in taste. The fruity accents are more in the background while nutty and chocolatey notes are more prominent.
