The man behind Wildkaffee Austria - Martin Wölfl
Behind the development and management of Wildkaffee Austria there is no unknown face in the global specialty coffee sector – it is Martin Wölfl, world brewers cup champion of 2024. He is looking forward to continuing to grow Wildkaffee Austrai together with you.
Martin first came into contact with coffee during his business studies in 2016. Martin worked in the marketing department of a coffee roastery. The subject fascinated him - he studied coffee intensively - read specialist books, attended numerous workshops and courses. Ultimately, he started out as a barista in the Balthasar coffee bar. In addition, as head of the coffee department at the Öfferl bakery and coffee roastery, he took care of the roasting, the development of the coffee range, the marketing of the coffee and the training of the baristas.
Over the years, Martin has attended numerous barista training courses in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. He also visited coffee farms such as our Coffee School Farm in El Salvador and farms in Guatemala and began to use these experiences to pass on his knowledge and passion in workshops, barista training courses and talks. Martin Wölfl has also successfully participated in several coffee competitions: after third place in 2019 and second place in 2020, Martin won the Austrian Brewers Cup title in 2021, 2022 and 2023. Martin has even had a taste of international competition: in September 2022, Martin took part in the Brewers Cup World Championship in Melbourne and in 2023 in Athens. Although Martin only came second to last in Athens, he wanted to take part in a World Cup one "last" time in 2024. Good decision: he won the world championship title!
