About the coffee
This coffee comes from Kiandu in the Nyeri District of Kenya. The region is one of the country's well-known coffee-growing areas. At an altitude of around 1,800 meters, the coffee cherries ripen under the conditions of the Kenyan highlands, forming the basis for a characteristic, fruit-forward cup profile.
This lot uses the Arabica varieties SL28 and SL34. Both are closely linked to Kenya's coffee history and are prized for their distinct, complex aromas. After harvest, the coffee cherries are processed using the washed method. In this process, the pulp and mucilage are removed before drying, allowing the origin and varietal-specific aromas to come through clearly.
In the cup, the coffee displays an intense fruitiness. Blackcurrant contributes a bold, dark berry aroma, while dried mango provides an exotic fruit note. The juicy mouthfeel combines the flavors into a vibrant and expressive overall profile. The light roast highlights the coffee's fruity characteristics. On the Origin
