We want coffee to be produced sustainably, fairly and socially responsibly.
That’s why we founded the Coffee School Project in El Salvador.
Although the country boasts excellent conditions for specialty coffee, the Central American nation has endured difficult times: overexploitation of natural resources, a coffee rust epidemic, the nationalization of coffee farms, and climate change. In the 2010s, all of this led to the near-complete collapse of coffee cultivation in El Salvador.
We want to counteract this with the Coffee School Project – in El Salvador and other countries. Because, above all, coffee is associated with the people who work hard on the coffee farms every day, ensuring that the coffee cherries develop their full aroma and are harvested at the right time. Unfortunately, in many parts of the world, coffee farmers only receive a fraction of what is ultimately earned with each cup – yet they bear the brunt of the work and also bear the risk of crop failure.
Our cornerstones at a glance
Buenos Aires Coffee Farm
At our "Buenos Aires" farm, we live our values and have created a place for exchange and professional development for coffee farmers from the entire region. We took over an abandoned farm and reforested it. This not only reactivated an overgrown farm but also allowed us to strategically select Arabica varieties. Here, for example, we are working on new hybrids that deliver both outstanding flavor and are pest-resistant.
On-site support
From this foundation, we aim to support farmers throughout the region. We do this through training in sustainable and organic farming and by sharing our many years of expertise in processing the harvested coffee cherries. We are constantly expanding our network in the region to improve conditions not only on our farm but throughout the region.
Green coffee sales
Since the coffee trees on our farm are still young and produce relatively low yields, the majority of our coffee comes from our neighboring farms. However, since we also want to support these farms in exporting their coffee in the long term, we not only roast these coffees ourselves but also distribute the green coffee to partners in Europe. This gives our partner farms access to interested roasters and allows them to build direct relationships.
Help with reforestation
It's not just on our farm that massive tree planting is needed. Deforestation needs to be counteracted throughout El Salvador. And globally, we need 1 trillion trees to mitigate climate change.
Plant now

On our farm in El Salvador, in the Buenos Aires region, we train coffee farmers, teach them sustainable farming, and support them in their transition to sustainable coffee cultivation, processing their coffee cherries, and selling them on international markets. We also support the coffee farmers and their families with direct assistance and financial resources.
We employ our coffee farm staff year-round and pay wages well above the national average.
What we do
We want to create a coffee community in the Buenos Aires region where coffee farmers are fairly compensated for their high-quality coffee. To achieve this, we support coffee farmers in the cultivation, processing, and sale of their coffee. In this way, we aim to strengthen the region and, through coffee cultivation, create a better standard of living for coffee farmers and their families. In this community, we want to foster a shared exchange among farmers and form the basis for mutual growth.
We conduct seminars with coffee farmers to demonstrate modern coffee cultivation techniques, focusing on sustainable farming. The region's coffee farmers learn to rely on natural fertilizers and pesticides and cultivate coffee plants in harmony with nature. We also support them in converting their coffee farms from chemical substances to organic coffee cultivation.
In addition to fair payment for their high-quality coffee, we are committed to using a portion of our profits to support the Buenos Aires region and the community it has created. This can include direct aid in the form of water catchment basins, water filters, or solar panels, as well as supporting the local school for the education of the region's children.

Platform for togetherness
We are also committed to bringing greater transparency to the green coffee trade. Our goal is to create a platform for mutual exchange in all areas of coffee. We promote the exchange between coffee roasters about roasting profiles and working methods, the exchange between coffee farmers about cultivation techniques, various processing techniques, and fermentations, as well as the exchange between coffee farmers and coffee roasters and our coffee projects.

For the love of people, nature and coffee
Coffee cultivation is accompanied by many challenges and uncertainties. Farmers often lack the know-how and financial resources to sustainably improve the quality of their harvest. Therefore, we want to support coffee farmers wherever we can.
- We support coffee farms in switching to and growing coffee sustainably.
- We help with the distribution, processing and shipping of the green coffee.
- We are building and expanding a coffee community – far beyond the borders of El Salvador – by creating transparent connections between coffee farmers and coffee roasters.
- We conduct research and exchange information with institutes and partners on modern cultivation, organic fertilization and processing methods.
- We are creating an optimized circular economy in which people and nature are in harmony.
Other projects:
The Arhuacos are an indigenous Colombian people dedicated to protecting nature and living in harmony with it. We not only share these ideas but also exchange our knowledge of organic coffee cultivation. We also support the Arhuacos' elementary school and discuss coffee fermentation with them.
Arhuaco coffee is certified by many organizations, as the work of the many small farmers who cultivate their coffee wildly and naturally is just like the soil of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta — chemical-free and completely natural. However, certification is less important than achieving a broad reach and spreading the Arhuaco message about coffee. It's about raising awareness among people and explaining to them that living in harmony with nature is necessary to avoid destroying the planet.
What we do
Support in the construction and expansion of schools, the Arhuacos in improving coffee cultivation and the work of ANEI.
The ANEI is an organization founded by Arhuaco Aurora Maria Izquierdo that organizes and operates the Arhuaco coffee trade. The proceeds directly benefit the farmers, and a portion is used to build schools and support the people in cultivating their crops and raising animals.
