    The EA Sugarcane process uses only natural solvents and does not involve any pressure. This preserves the excellent cup profile of the beans from Colombia. Hazelnut aromas are paired with a milk chocolate taste. Thanks to the medium roast, our decaffeinated coffee is suitable for any type of preparation.

Not everyone can tolerate caffeine as a stimulant, and many coffee lovers have been looking for a version of coffee that doesn't contain caffeine but still retains the typical coffee flavor. We took up these wishes in our search for a delicious coffee without caffeine and found what we were looking for in Colombia.

  • How does decaffeination work?

    Unlike other decaffeinated coffees, our coffee uses only natural solvents and no pressure is used at all. The so-called EA Sugarcane process is used. In this process, the beans are first steamed to swell them and make them permeable. They are then placed in a bath of natural ethyl acetate, which comes from sugar cane. This liquid extracts the caffeine from the beans. The process is repeated several times over eight hours, then the beans are dried.

Prepare our decaffeinated coffee in the stovetop pot

You need finely ground coffee, your stovetop pot and water (preferably preheated)

1. Pour preheated water into the lower part of the stove pot until just below the small valve
2. Put the ground coffee into the small sieve and press lightly with your fingers
3. Set the stove to medium heat and screw the stove pot together
4. Place the pot on the stove and wait until you hear a slight whistling sound
5. Place the pot on a wet cloth and serve it directly

In our search for the best decaffeinated coffee, we found it in Colombia. In the Huila region, the beans of the Caturra variety are grown at an altitude of between 1,200 and 2,000 meters. After harvesting, the cherries are washed and processed at a central washing station. This creates a pleasant milk chocolate flavor that is perfectly rounded off with fine notes of hazelnuts.
