About the coffee
This exceptional coffee comes from the Aquiares Coffee Estate in the Turrialba region of Costa Rica. Located on the slopes of the Turrialba volcano, the farm is one of the country's most renowned coffee producers. In addition to cultivating classic Arabica varieties, Aquiares is also dedicated to unique hybrids and experimental processing methods.
This lot features the Centroamericano variety – an F1 hybrid of Sarchimor and Rume Sudan. After harvest, the coffee cherries are fermented anaerobically as whole fruit and subsequently dried as a natural. The combination of variety and processing results in a complex and intense cup profile with distinct fruitiness and a pleasant sweetness.
In terms of flavor, the coffee is multi-layered: blood orange provides a juicy, citrusy fruitiness, while caramel adds sweetness and balance. These are complemented by subtle notes of cacao nibs, which give the coffee additional depth.
A characterful Costa Rican with plenty of fruit, sweetness, and an exciting, wine-like finish – ideal for those who enjoy discovering extraordinary coffees with complex aromatic profiles. On the Origin
