We get our green coffee for the Colombian Arhuaco directly from the ANEI cooperative without any middlemen. ANEI is the organization that organizes and operates the Arhuaco coffee trade. The Arhuaco are an indigenous people in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in northern Colombia. There are numerous small farmers in the region who grow their coffee plants naturally and without the use of chemicals.

Colombia Arhuaco

Colombia Arhuaco - one of the most important coffee producers in the world

Colombia is the largest producer of Arabica in the world. The beans have been cultivated there since the end of the 19th century. Coffee from Colombia is valued all over the world for its highest quality. Around 70% of the coffee is grown there on modern farms. The rest comes from smaller, family-run fincas. This is also the case with our Colombia Arhuaco. It comes from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, which is located in the northern part of the country. There are several small farms owned by the indigenous Arhuaco, who have joined together to form a cooperative and produce different varieties there.

Colombia Arhuaco - an all-rounder

Our Colombia Arhuaco is particularly varied in terms of taste. It has a pleasant fullness that tends towards a creamy taste. It is also very balanced. An excellent balance of sweetness and acidity develops in the cup profile. After the harvest, the selected green coffee is processed at a central station. This intensifies the fruity accents of the Colombia Arhuaco even further. In the wild coffee roastery, the selected green coffee is then gently refined by our roasting masters. The coffee is medium roasted. This makes it suitable for every preparation method. It is a first-class choice, especially for fully automatic machines! Slightly nutty, chocolatey aromas also develop, which also combine excellently with milk.
