  • About the product

The coffee, which is ground a little finer than for the French Press, first goes into the stainless steel double-mesh filter. This sits on top of the heat-resistant borosilicate glass jug.

The water is then poured in a circular motion, allowing it to brew before the remaining water is poured in. After the brewing time, the filter is removed and the pot is closed with a porcelain lid with a silver-plated knob.

The advantage of Carl Henkel is definitely that you save on filter paper, which in turn is good for the environment, but also that the coffee is brewed without any pressure, unlike with a French press. In addition, when you remove the filter after the brewing time, the coffee does not continue to brew and therefore does not develop any bitter substances.

  • Carl Henkel Brewer - the classic

The Carl Henkel can definitely be described as a classic among preparation methods. It is probably the most sustainable filter coffee method there is. However, it cannot be compared to conventional hand filters, as the Carl Henkel works without any filter paper and therefore has a very different taste to conventional hand filter methods.

Carl Henkel Brewer - this is how it is constructed!

The special thing about the Carl Henkel is the "filter", which, unlike conventional filter methods, is not made of paper but of stainless steel. This is inserted into the heat-resistant borosilicate glass jug, which is closed with a high-quality porcelain lid.

Carl Henkel Brewer - the special filter

It has holes that are small enough to prevent the ground coffee from getting into the brewed coffee. The coffee should be ground a little finer than with the French Press. The water is pre-brewed and then poured over, just like with a hand filter. The Carl Henkel works like the French Press, using the direct extraction method.

Wildkaffee Roastery

Carl Henkel - This is how the coffee tastes!

Coffee from Carl Henkel impresses with its distinctive body and full-bodied taste.

The Carl Henkel works with direct extraction. This means that the ground coffee is extracted directly in the water and therefore tastes very intense.

Medium roasts in particular are a real taste experience in the Carl Henkel. But espressos and specialty coffees can also be prepared using the Carl Henkel.
