  • About the coffee

This coffee comes from Chikmagalur in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. The region is one of India's traditional coffee-growing areas and is known for its lush vegetation and tropical growing conditions. The coffee is grown on the Hoysale Estate by Angadi at an altitude between 900 and 1,050 meters.

The Sarchimor variety is used for this lot. After harvesting, the ripe coffee cherries are processed using the natural method. The cherries are dried as whole fruit, allowing flavors from the pulp and mucilage to help shape the character of the coffee during the drying process. This creates a unique flavor profile influenced by the variety, growing conditions, and processing.

In the cup, the India Nerle 1R reveals an exciting combination of floral and fruity notes. Hibiscus introduces a floral component, while blackberry provides a dark, berry-like fruitiness. Caramel complements the profile with a pleasant sweetness. The light roast highlights the individual character of this coffee.

An interesting coffee from India for anyone looking to discover floral nuances, dark berry fruits, and sweet caramel notes in a cup.
